HOME HEALTH SERVICES: THE SOLUTION
Most of our clients require a registered nurse who works with a physician to ensure that each patient receives the appropriate level and frequency of health care. Our clients and their families can be confident that their JF&CS nurse will monitor progress, respond to new concerns and answer questions.

The emotional impact of an illness and subsequent convalescence may become difficult for some clients. Therefore, our medical social workers, trained in geriatric and recuperative issues, are available. Additionally clients may require other therapies, and JF&CS may include physical, occupational or speech therapy as part of the care plan.

The Home Health program can also assign a certified home health aide to qualified clients. The aide assists with bathing, toileting, transfers and adaptive equipment. All home healthcare services are coordinated and supervised by JF&CS nurses and are usually paid for by Medicare, Medicaid, managed care or third party insurers.

Home healthcare may be only one of the services an individual requires. This program works in conjunction with other JF&CS Senior Services, and may also refer clients to one of our many community programs, including Jewish Healing Connections. Our goal is to provide services for the whole person - physical, emotional and spiritual.

Please be aware that most insurers do not view home healthcare as a long-term benefit. If more continual care is needed, clients and their families are urged to consider other related JF&CS services.
