What Can I Do with Training in Infant–Parent Mental Health?
The Clinical Fellowship trains professionals from diverse disciplines: psychiatry, psychology, social work, pediatrics, early childhood and parent education, physical and occupational therapy.
With training in Infant-Parent Mental Health you can:
- Integrate the new perspectives and skills into your current work with children, adults and families.
- Create or expand your private practice to include or specialize in infants and new parents.
- Provide parent-infant psychotherapy and related direct services within mental health, early childhood, health and hospital settings.
- Consult and supervise with providers and agencies involved in Early Intervention, Early Head Start, Healthy Families and child care.
- Develop and provide parent education programs for adult and teen parents and their children.
- Direct child welfare programs specific to foster care and protective services.
- Advocate at the local state and national levels for legislation and services for infants, toddlers and families.
- Teach Courses and workshops in early development and parent-infant work.
