Lauren & Mark Rubin Visiting Moms

Thanks to a very generous gift from the Epstein-Rubin Family, the Visiting Moms Program will be named for Lauren and Mark Rubin.

ARE YOU PREGNANT?
DO YOU HAVE A NEW BABY?

THEN YOU NEED NURTURING, TOO.

Having a baby is an exciting time. But it can be scary, too. We know. We've been there. We're moms. And we're available to help.

The Visiting Moms Program has received awards from the Massachusetts Children's Trust Fund and The Boston Parent's Paper.

"I don't know what I would have done without the Visiting Moms Program. It helped me so immensely. The idea of women helping women, especially at such a special time in a woman's life, is a beautiful one."
-MARISSA G.

THE VISITING MOMS PROGRAM MAKES A DIFFERENCE

Are you feeling isolated?

Would you like to meet other parents?

Do you think you are the only one who dreams about a full night's sleep, a dinner out or a chance to spend a few hours alone?

Sometimes a friendly face, adult conversation, a chance to tell someone that you feel overwhelmed and tired can make a world of difference. Visiting Moms are trained to help mothers gain confidence in their new role as a parent. They know what resources are available in your community. And they conveniently visit you in your home.

VISITING MOMS: A HOME VISITING PROGRAM FOR NEW MOTHERS
The Visiting Moms Program is for pregnant women and parents of newborns who want support and companionship for themselves. A Visiting Mom volunteer will come to your home for up to two hours a week toward the end of your pregnancy, and continue through the trying first months of infancy or up to your baby's first birthday. Together you can talk confidentially. You may ask questions and share your concerns or feelings. Trained by JF&CS, and a mother herself, the Visiting Mom provides consistent support for you during the challenging early months of your life with your new baby. And it's free.
