Chaverim Shel Shalom (Friends of Peace) is a program for Jewish adults with chronic psychiatric illnesses. In addition to cultural, educational, and social programs, we offer ongoing support and connection to Jewish tradition and the Jewish community. We offer a wide variety of “Dinner & Learn” programs for the group to meet, share a meal, and discuss Torah portions, Jewish holidays, and other topics of interest. We also hold community activities, such as movie nights at the Coolidge Corner Theater and afternoon trips around Boston. There is no cost to be a member of this group.
Chaverim Chaim (Friends for Life) is a social group for adults with developmental disabilities, mental retardation, and/or autism. All events focus on socializing in an environment with a Jewish content. Events including Shabbat dinners, movie nights, and Jewish holiday celebrations are offered monthly and at no cost to participants. Chaverim Chaim is funded by CJP and is a collaboration of JF&CS, Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston, and Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters.
